Representing a diverse network of providers and small business owners, AMPNH advocates for industry standards, legislative reform, and ongoing education statewide and beyond.

SONYA M. ELLIS: 

Sonya M. Ellis is the co-founder, lead injector and head trainer at the L.A.B., an award-winning med spa located in Southlake Texas. She has been injecting for almost 20 years, has been in plastic surgery and aesthetics for almost 30 years. She is one of only two nurses in the state of Texas to not only hold a certification in Aesthetics but also Plastic Surgery. She has trained for some of the top aesthetic manufacturers, lectures at several aesthetic conferences, served as the Aesthetic Chair for the International Society of Plastic Surgery and Aesthetic Nursing Education Committee and is now one of its Board of Directors.
She was also awarded in 2025 by AMSPA as one of its Distinguished Women in Aesthetic Leadership and recognized as a Master Injector in 2026 by the Foundation for Aesthetic Medical Excellence (FAME). She offers private and group advanced technique classes in her state-of-the-art training facility located 15 minutes away from the DFW Airport. She loves to advise the next generation of injectors and offers one of the only FREE mentorship programs for injectors in the United States.

 

Dr. Ellis is not only co-founder of the L.A.B., an award-winning med spa located in Southlake Texas, but also serves as one of its Medical Directors. He is certified in Functional Medicine and Weight Management and also runs all the aggressive lasers in the office. He also trains on Cadaver Anatomy and Ultrasound for Aesthetics. He offers private and group classes in their state-of-the-art training facility located 15 minutes away from the DFW Airport.
Dr Ellis is still a practicing board certified Anesthesiologist for Metro Anesthesia. He has served on numerous committees for the group, including the board and Chief of Staff and Chief of Anesthesia and Medical Director for several facilities. He was also the recipient of the Frist Humanitarian Award, an honor recognizing individuals who are dedicated to improving the lives of others and who go beyond everyday kindness through service, compassion, and generosity. He rides 150 miles most years to support a cure for MS for his mother and volunteers every year in Guatemala to provide free surgeries with Faith in Practice. He supports numerous organizations and enjoys athletic events that challenge him and give back to veterans such as SEALFIT and GORUCK.
He is and always will be a “former student” (they don’t say alumni) of Texas A&M University – Gig ‘em!‍
